Organizers announced late Friday that the Independence Day Parade in Washington has been canceled due to an extreme heat warning. With temperatures forecasted to soar up to 115 degrees, safety concerns prompted the decision.

While the parade will not occur, the traditional evening fireworks display is still scheduled to proceed. Residents and visitors can look forward to the fireworks, which will light up the night sky despite the cancellation of the parade.

This year's Independence Day celebrations will be different, but the spirit of the holiday remains intact as the community prepares for the fireworks show.
